My Thoughts On The Mortal Kombat 2021 Movie

I've been a huge long-time fan of the Mortal Kombat franchise since I was just a little kid and the original was released in arcades back in 1992. That being said, I really didn't mind the Mortal Kombat 2021 movie even though it has been criticized by many.

Sure there are some thing's in it that I didn't like. For example I didn't like how quickly Goro was taken out by the new character Cole Young or how I thought some character's didn't get enough screen time. I didn't let that ruin the whole movie for me though.

Some people think that it was nothing like the games but in my opinion I think that if it was exactly like the games then we would already know what to expect and it wouldn't be very interesting because we've already seen it in the games.

I try to look at it as a different take on the Mortal Kombat story. Something new that we haven't seen. In the recent game there are different timelines with different outcomes. You can almost just look at the movie as just a different timeline. I really liked and appreciated all the easter eggs and references.

I thought the cast was pretty good and I liked the look of the character's, especially Sub-Zero and Scorpions costumes who were played by Joe Taslim and Hiroyuki Sanada. I'm a big fan of theirs. I also didn't mind the new character Cole Young who was played by Lewis Tan.

Overall, I didn't think it was a bad movie. Maybe a few things could have been better but I still enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to see the sequel Mortal Kombat 2 that is going to be released in 2025.
