A Quick Talk About Kirby's Dream Course
Kirby's Dream Course was a Super Nintendo game and it was a spin-off of the other Kirby games. It was one of the only Kirby games I never played as a kid. I remember always seeing it at the video store but never rented it. It wasn't until recent years that I played it for the first time. I was watching an episode of The Game Grumps where they were playing it and I thought it looked like a fun game. I saw that you can play it in the SNES collection on the Nintendo Switch if you have an online membership.
Recently I had some friends visit from out of town and I showed them the game because I thought it would be fun to play with friends. We really enjoyed it and must have played it for hours.
It was first released in Japan on September 21, 1994. It was then released in North America the following year on February 1, 1995.
The game is similar to golf and its 1 or 2 players. You want to try to shoot Kirby into the hole with as few strokes as possible. There are 12 courses with 8 holes each.
You have to hit each enemy before you can get him in the hole. You can collect stars from enemies and also gain a copy ability from the enemy that you hit. The copy abilities can be really helpful.

When aiming Kirby you have a power meter to control your distance and you can pop him up in the air or put some spin on him. You want to try to avoid traps and pits or over shooting because you can fall off of the side. In some areas there are bumpers you can bounce off of.
You have an energy gauge that has 4 tomatoes on it for each stroke you take. You can lose tomatoes by taking damage also. If you lose all your tomatoes, you lose a life. You can gain more tomatoes by hitting enemies or getting Kirby into the hole.
It's a great game to play if you want to take a break from something or need a distraction and play a quick couple of holes. If you own a Nintendo Switch it's fun to play on the go or on long road trips. I highly recommend it.
